During the orientation you have an opportunity to meet the International Student Advisor, Ms. Marisa Thigpen, and the other new international students, some of our returning students, and staff members. We will review with you all US legal requirements and begin immigration processing of your I-20's and DS-2019's. It is important that you bring the following items to this meeting: your passport, your I-20 or DS-2019, your I-94 card, and your signed Insurance Signature Sheet (see Step #6).

The Orientation will cover topics such as life in the United States, adjusting to a new culture and an introduction to campus life. You will meet various professionals who will be available to help you throughout your stay at Sonoma State University. We will also discuss health care in the US including required health insurance and immunizations. You will have an opportunity to get your Sonoma State ID card, take a campus tour, learn to use the on-line resources and have an opportunity to meet with your academic advisor.
