Using Applicant Self Service and Seawolf Email
Applicants to Sonoma State University who are applying for financial aid must use Self Service to view their documentation requirements, called your To Do List. Admitted students will also use Self Service to view their financial aid awards once they are available.
Applicant Self Service
What is Applicant Self Service?
Applicant Self Service provides the information you need regarding your:
- To Do List of documentation requirements for financial aid, admissions, etc.
- Admission application status
- Financial aid awards if you are admitted to SSU
- Ability to update your personal contact information
Please note that there is a processing period of 4 weeks after you’ve submitted your admission application for Fall before your Self Service information will be available. For Spring applications, the processing period is 2 weeks.
The Financial Aid Office sends an email to your personal email address on file with SSU when there is information to view regarding your financial aid To Do List or financial aid awards in Self Service. If you are admitted and become eligible to register, you will receive a Seawolf Email address, which will become the only email address we use to contact you at that time. For continuing SSU students, the Financial Aid Office exclusively uses the Seawolf Email for official communications.

Seawolf Email
Seawolf Email addresses are generally created once you have paid your Enrollment Reservation Deposit and are permitted to register (matriculated). Once an SSU Email address is created, all your future notifications will be sent there. You will know you have a Seawolf Email address when you are able to access the Seawolf Email button located on the SSU Online Services menu after log in. It is your responsibility to check your Seawolf Email regularly for important notifications.
