New Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID replaces FSA PIN on May 10th
Beginning May 10, the new FSA ID replaces the Federal Student Aid PIN. When you log in to fafsa.ed.gov, the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), studentloans.gov, or studentaid.gov, you will be prompted to create the username and password that make up your FSA ID. Like the PIN, your FSA ID will confirm your identity when you access Federal Student Aid websites and electronically sign Federal Student Aid documents. The How to create a an FSA ID .pdf gives step-by-step instructions for creating your FSA ID.
Fall 2015 - Spring 2016 To Do List Notifications and Financial Aid Award Offer Timeline
We are currently loading the results of the 15-16 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and 15-16 California Dream Application into our system.
We will begin assigning To Do List items for the 15-16 financial aid award year by the end of February, 2015. At that time, students with To Do List items will receive an email notification and you will see the items in MySSU. Some students will not have any To Do List items assigned, in which case we will send you an application acknowledgement email at that time.
Students newly admitted to programs that are eligible for financial aid will begin receiving 2015-16 financial aid award offers in April. Continuing SSU students will begin receiving notification of their award offer in mid-June, after Spring 2015 grades have been posted.
