Recruiting Guidelines are available online to assist Appropriate Administrator with the recruiting process. These guidelines are password protected, available only to those hiring managers who have completed training in staff recruiting.
A well-crafted position description is the cornerstone of any job. To assist managers in drafting positions descriptions, they will find general position descriptions for positions commonly recruited on campus (these position descriptions are password protected), there is a position description template (doc) that is used, and instructions (doc) for completing position descriptions.
An emergency appointment is typically used to fill a short-term absence, or may be used to fill a vacancy while a position opening is filled. Staff Emergency Appointment Guidelines (doc) are available to assist managers in filling emergency appointments.
Employee Services provides initial review before departments may contract with an individual as an independent contractor. Please complete the Independent Contractor Review (doc) form and forward it to your Human Resources Manager for review prior to making any arrangements to hire an independent contractor.
