Student Advocates for Education (SAFE)

S.A.F.E. Menu

It is SAFE’s (Student Advocates for Education) mission to be peer educators - a group of students educating fellow students on the Sonoma State University campus.  It is our goal to educate and inform students about making healthy choices on important college related safety issues, including but not limited to sexual health, responsible alchohal use and sexual assault in the following ways:

  • We work as a team to ensure we are using the most effective methods of education in order to reach the most students.
  • We educate our peers through informative facilitations in classes, clubs, sororities/fraternities, sports teams, and resident hall buildings.
  • We train University 102 Peer Mentors to conduct in-class facilitations related to our three main areas of focus: sexual health, responsible alchohal use and sexual assualt.
  • We sponsor events for and with the SSU and Rohnert Park community.
It is our hope that SAFE will empower students to have the knowledge to make healthy choices that enables us to live safer lives and in a community with the support of our peers.
