Master of Business Administration

The Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) is intended to prepare graduates for positions of leadership in organizational settings in both the private and public sectors. The program is a part-time evening program designed primarily to meet the needs of the working student in Sonoma County and the North Bay region. Students seeking a full time program are advised to apply to one of the other CSU schools. Schools with full time programs can guarantee sufficient units for quick graduation and allow international students enough units to maintain their visas.

Sonoma State’s graduate business program offers two MBA options. One option is the General MBA program which provides a comprehensive education in the various aspects of business. As is typical with this type of program, the General MBA does not include a concentration or specialization in any functional area of business. However, in addition to the Required courses, the General MBA degree program does offer a variety of electives that students can select from to strengthen their skill set in a particular area. A second option is the new MBA with a concentration in Wine Business. The MBA program in Wine Business shares some courses in common with the General MBA, while also including three courses specific to the wine industry.
