Web Accessibility
Update:
The SSU ATI Steering Committee has approved the SSU Web Accessibility Implementation Plan (PDF).
The Internet and resources such as websites, web applications and digital content are among the primary vehicles by which information reaches the Sonoma State University community. Given the central presence of the Internet in delivering information and services, it is essential that web accessibility be a priority.
Web Accessibility Goals
SSU has begun bringing its administrative web pages into compliance with Section 508 standards. The SSU Web Accessibility Implementation Plan sets out specific steps the campus will take to meet related ATI goals.
- Form a University Web Advisory Committee
- Update the web policy and prioritize websites for repair/redesign
- Form a University Web team with appropriate representation
- Begin work on training web authors for consistent technical requirements
Administrative Websites
Administrative sites are those belonging to divisions, schools, departments and programs. These sites may be created by SSU employees, developed by off-campus developers, or be part of a web-based tool or service hosted on or off-campus.
